February is African American History Month in the United States, a time to recall and celebrate the accomplishments and contributions made by people of African descent. But not many know this annual U.S. tradition was born in Washington DC. VOA’s Chris Simkins introduces us to the man who started it and the home where people are learning about his legacy.
